The Scriptures are full of startling promises to Jesus. Consider, for example, Psalm 72: “He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the River to the
ends of the earth….
Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him.”
Judged by these promises, it is clear that we still have a long way to go before the end of the world – yet many Christian teachers routinely declare that we are living
in the “last days” and that Jesus is going to return at any moment. But how can this be if these promises are true?
After all, the nations are not serving the Lord; in fact, very few nations explicitly acknowledge the Lordship of Christ; indeed, many Christians would insist that this
isn't even their calling—nations aren't supposed to acknowledge Jesus as Lord. Boy, do we need some Spring Cleaning!
