The Scriptures are full of startling promises to Jesus. Consider, for example, Psalm 72: “He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth…. Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him.”

Judged by these promises, it is clear that we still have a long way to go before the end of the world – yet many Christian teachers routinely declare that we are living in the “last days” and that Jesus is going to return at any moment. But how can this be if these promises are true? After all, the nations are not serving the Lord; in fact, very few nations explicitly acknowledge the Lordship of Christ; indeed, many Christians would insist that this isn't even their calling—nations aren't supposed to acknowledge Jesus as Lord. Boy, do we need some Spring Cleaning!

Welcome to the 2012 Trinity Church Spring Cleaning Conference. This year we tackle the early history of the church in an attempt to learn how Christ conquered the Roman Empire. After all, if all kings shall fall down before Him, all nations shall serve Him, then it stands to reason that there are some important lessons we can learn from Christ's conquest of Ancient Rome. Why did Constantine bow the knee to Jesus and what can we learn from Christ's victory?
